Meeting was called to order at 5:04 pm

Officer Positions

We will hold elections in May. Please consider if you would like to hold a position in the 2012-2013 school year.    


Membership Brochure

We need to complete the list of business who wish to advertise in our membership brochure. So far the following businesses have confirmed: Loo’s on the Lot, Burch Family Rest, Tigers Lair Dojo, TDS Contracting, Empire Septic, More Than Just Favors, Pole Valley, Boucher & Sons, McCane Heating, J Euber Energy, Brenda’s Chop Shop, Pampered Chef, JE Heating & Plumbing, All in One Contracting, Curt’s Autobody & All in One Exchange.

We will meet the week of open house to put brochures together – Jen will send an email with a date & time.

    
Calendars
Boces will print a 24 page (+ cover) for $814.00 or a 12 page (+ cover) 620.00, or an 11x17 poster with 12 black & white calendar pages for $752.00. We have to decide today. We have to create the template for Boces to print and that will take some time.  Price quoted is for 400 pieces. We also discussed the possibility of adding an ad on the calendar to the membership brochure request.  Those who pay extra can have an ad on the back of the calendar. We decided to go with the 12-page calendar and Jen will create the template.  Calendar will include character trait of the month, days off, sports schedule, school contact info & events. Boces will touch up our template and print.  


Forms

The following Building In Use/Fundraiser request forms have been approved.  Halloween Party, Cook Book, Poinsettia Sale, Holiday Shop, Basket Party & Family Fun Day.  
New Business
MS/HS Expansion Committee
It has been suggested that we create a committee that will serve 6th – 12th grades. This committee would be under PTA but will operate separately. PTA will monitor any funds received and write checks as needed. We will need 1-2 people to head the committee and act as a contact. This info will be listed in the Membership Brochure.  Char has agreed to be the committee chairperson. Jen N & Lori will be committee members. They will let us know if anything is needed.   
Cook Book
Jen N has reviewed cookbook details. We will sell at a discounted price of $8.00 until September 30th and will base our final order count on the amount of books purchased from pre-sale. We will sell the remaining book for $10.00 each. Delivery should be mid December. Proceeds from the cookbook will fund field trips this year.  
Halloween Party
We will use some of the supplies left over from last year for the treat bags. We will need to purchase orange paper for permission slips. They will go home Oct 7th (Friday before Columbus Day) due back Oct 24th. Reminders will go home Oct 24th. We will provide teachers will a list of students who have permission to attend party.  (Jen N will add the students who are called in the day of the party) and drop off an updated copy to all the teachers.  A PTA volunteer will pick up the kids  (at 2:20) who will attend the party and bring them to the gym.  Last year we spent $281.21 / $1.16 per child.  A budget of $250.00 was approved (67 kids would have to sign up and pay to break even). Char mentioned that she might have helium tanks we can use.  This year we will purchase a background and take the kids pictures. We will print them over the weekend and send them to school.  Jen will email HS class officers to see if they can volunteer to run games again. Halloween Party committee – Jen N & Jen L.  The following are able to help set up – Char, Heather & Maureen.    
Taxes
We must file form 990 by November 2011
Holiday Shop
Committee includes: Jen L, Jen N, Heather, Char, Tracey & Maureen. The holiday shop committee will meet to review list of products to possibly purchase and review consigners. Our goal is to present a budget at the Oct meeting. We will need volunteers to set up and run the shop.  
Open House
Will be held Thursday October 6th from 5:30-7:00. We will have a table in the Elementary & MS/HS wing. Char, Jen N & Lori will sit in the MS/HS and Tracey, Jen L & Heather will sit in Elementary.  
Spring Fling
The MS/HS Committee is considering hosting a spring fling dance for 5th – 8th graders. Possibly around prom season. The committee will let us know if anything is needed from PTA.  
Fundraiser
It was disused and agreed to award the music & art department with the proceeds from a fundraiser this year.  It was suggested to run a Natures Vision fundraiser again as it was a success and we receive a high profit. We can decide on a date at the October meeting.
